Superintendent’s Biography

Mrs. Fisher has spent more than 23 years in education. Following high school, she received an A.A.S in Early Childhood Development from Hudson Valley Community College and worked at Helping Hands School and Shannon’s Rainbow Daycare Center as a Preschool Teacher. From there, Mrs. Fisher achieved a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from The College of Saint Rose in 1995 and began her career as a Speech and Language Therapist and Job Coach at Glens Falls City School District. She then earned a Masters of Science in Teaching from Plattsburgh State University of New York and moved north to accept a position at Warrensburg Central School District. Mrs. Fisher spent the next fifteen years providing Speech and Language services for students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade.

As an avid life-long learner, she returned to school again to secure additional certifications in the areas of Students with Disabilities Birth-2, Students with Disabilities 1-6, Students with Disabilities 7-12, Early Childhood Education Birth-2 and Childhood Education 1-6. In 2013, she accepted a position at Newcomb Central School District as a Special Education Teacher, servicing students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. In August of 2017, having earned a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership as a School Building Leader, she assumed the role of Director of Curriculum and Instruction. In May of 2018, she secured a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership as a School District Leader. In August, she accepted the position of Deputy Superintendent with the district. Mrs. Fisher became the superintendent in August of 2019.

Mrs. Fisher demonstrates strong communication skills as a collaborator motivating people to come together for common goals. New STEAM academic programming, student club offerings and the return of the Newcomb Huskie Sports Program are some of the most visible initiatives of Mrs. Fisher’s first year as Superintendent.

Mrs. Fisher and her husband Lou live in Newcomb and enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, biking, paddling and enjoying their Adirondack surroundings.
